The Gold Guys Win First Minnesota’s Best Award

The Gold Guys are honored to have won a Bronze placement for ‘gold and rare coins’ this year. This is our first MN Best Award and it is a great accomplishment. We take pride in offering quality service to our community. A big thank you goes out to all of our supporters who nominated and voted for us. We could not have done it without you!

What is Minnesota’s Best?

The Star Tribune’s Minnesota Best recognizes the best businesses in Minnesota from over 390 different categories. From the best barbershop to the best brewery, there’s a category for everyone and every type of business.

How Does it Work?

Nominations for Minnesota Best open in early August and run for about three weeks. During that time, readers can nominate their favorite businesses in any of the 390 categories. After nominations close, voting for the finalists takes place for another three weeks.

Owners, managers, clients, and fans may all suggest a local business for inclusion in the program. The nominations are verified to ensure that they provide the service for which they were nominated and that they serve Minnesota.

Nominations are verified, and the top choices from each category are added to the Minnesota’s Best list. Ballots are available for public voting for 24 days. The general public is invited to vote once every day through the duration of the election. This year, the winners were announced on September 25th.

What Are the Categories?

Categories cover everything from food and drink to retail and services. There are even a few fun, unique categories like “Best Place to Buy a Pet” and “Best Place to Get a Kiss.”

How Many Businesses Can Win?

A total of 1,200 businesses are recognized in the Minnesota Best list each year–that’s 390 first-place winners, 390 second-place winners, and 390 third-place winners.

What Does it Mean to Win?

In addition to the bragging rights that come with being named one of Minnesota’s Best businesses, winners also receive a Minnesota Best logo that they can use on their website, marketing materials, and more.

How Long has Minnesota’s Best Been Around?
